For women/men makeup is applied to enhance and highlight their facial features. It adds colours at the right places(rosy cheeks, bronzed effect) makes the skin even toned and smoothes it out.

To achieve a flawless and professional makeup application proper tools are required. Once understood the makeup application process is relatively easy than it may seem.

Here I am going to talk about specific makeup brushes and products ; The Stippling Brush, The Contouring Brush, Setting Spray and Concealer.

The Stippling Brush :

What is it?

A Stippling Brush is a dual fiber brush used for application of foundation, bronzer, blush and powder. It is ideal for blending liquid and cream based makeup products.

How to use it?

Take a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand dab the brush lightly on it, make sure that the foundation is or the product you are using only stays on the white bristles of the brush. Now pat the brush on your entire face keeping it mind to cover the face with product first (do not do any circular motions now). This is to make sure that your face is covered with the product just like you do it while applying cream. After you have made small dots of products on your face start swirling the brush lightly in circles to blend in the foundation. Repeat this motion on all the dots till you achieve a flawless look.

Tip: I either use my finger to dot the foundation first on my face or I use a foundation brush and then use the stippling brush to achieve a flawless and smooth look.

The Contouring Brush :

The contour brush usually has an angled tip. The angle on the brush helps create a precise line in contouring.

Contouring helps in giving the illusion of high cheekbones and defined jawlines or enhance them.

How to use it?

Apply the contouring cream on the sides of your forehead, below your cheekbones, on the sides of your nose and on your jawline with the help of the brush.

Blend the product using back and forth motions until all the lines have disappeared.

Now use a highlighting powder or cream underneath your eyes, on the middle of your forehead, on your chin and below your contour cream applied at the base of your cheekbones. Blend Blend Blend!

Concealer :

It is similar to foundation but thicker. It is applied to cover dark circles, blemishes and large pores. A concealer blends the imperfections into the surrounding skin tone.

How to use it?

The Mac concealer can be gently dabbed either by brush or the tips of your finger.

Tip: Always choose the concealer shade lighter to your skin tone.

Setting Spray :

It helps keep makeup in place, helps prevent makeup meltdown and hydrates your face.

How to use it?

Apply your makeup as you usually do, when you are done with all the application process hold the setting spray 6inch to 12inch away from face and make an X in front of your face to cover all areas with the spray. Let it dry on its own.

Tip: You can also use the setting spray before applying makeup or you can just apply as a standalone for a dewy natural look.
